So, I wasn’t planning to deep dive into anything political this week. I was just scrolling like usual when someone reposted this weird photo from James Comey’s Instagram. You know, the former FBI guy Trump fired years ago.
It was a picture of seashells, arranged in the sand to spell out a number: 8647.
The caption said something like, “Cool shell formation on my beach walk.”

That should’ve been it.
But people immediately caught on to the numbers. In internet and restaurant slang, “86” means to cancel or get rid of something. And “47”? Well, Trump is now the 47th president.
So… 8647.
Some called it a threat. Others called it ridiculous. Comey took it down and said he had no idea the number could be interpreted that way. But let’s be honest, he’s not new to the internet. And whether it was intentional or not, it got noticed. Even the Secret Service looked into it.
What makes it even weirder is the timing. That post came just a few weeks before Trump was almost killed at a rally in Pennsylvania. A shooter opened fire from a rooftop. Trump got hit in the ear. Someone in the crowd died.
And now, the shell photo hits different.
Do I think James Comey plotted anything? I don’t have answers. But sometimes, the internet doesn’t need to make things up. Reality already gives us just enough to question.
